The Academy for a Better World will be known, in Hindi, as Gyan Sarovar Vidyapeeth. The term gyan Sarovar means: The Lake of Knowledge. The name reminds of Man Sarovar the lake about which the legend and the myth say that anyone who dipped into it, emerged as a fairy or an angel.

On a Scenic Spot, Near the Main city of lakes for the purpose of the Academy, a piece of land, measuring about twenty-three and a half acres, was acquired by Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa-Vidyalaya, about 4 kilometers from its present International Headquarters at Mount Abu which is a scenic city of lakes and is a calm and serene hill-resort in the Aravali range, where many Rajput Kings had their own palaces or summer houses, and where there are many temples and hermitages. In the ancient texts and folk-lore, the holy place, Abu, is associated with the names of sages and seers. The Delwara Temples here are specially known for their deep, delicate and majestic carving in pillars, ceilings and images.

The fore-mentioned institutions have built a modern village in a retreat atmosphere, without disturbing the natural topography and the original environment. One can see here a happy blend of hills, village and urban and forest elements and an eco-friendly atmosphere, Here are upcoming a couple of artificial lakes. This area is absolutely free from industrial smoke and from the noise of mega cities. Solar and Wind Energy and Electricity have been used to have an environment free from pollution. The Academy has many modern means of communication so as to be in touch with the outside world.
