About Us
  • How and when started

The Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya (PBKIVV) recognises the intrinsic spirituality and goodness of every human being and helps people rediscover that goodness within themselves, encouraging and facilitating the development of spiritual awareness, attitudes, behaviour and skills through a process of lifelong learning.

The institution was established by the incorporeal God Father through the human medium of Prajapita Brahma. Inspired by visions and subsequent revelations, he surrendered his mind, body and wealth and dedicated the remaining 33 years of his life to this task. He envisioned people of all cultural, economic and religious backgrounds coming together to rediscover and develop the spiritual dimension of their lives. With God's help and company he delineated fundamental principles necessary to restore the world to peace, purity and prosperity.

In 1951 the Institution's world headquarters moved to Mt Abu in Rajasthan, India, where it remains to this day. Prajapita Brahma left his mortal coil in 1969.

Dadi Prakashmaniji is the present Adm Head and Janaki Dadiji is the additional adm head.

As an international Institution, the Brahma Kumaris offer people of all backgrounds an opportunity to learn meditation and deepen their understanding of universal principles and innate values through a variety of educational programmes, courses and learning resources. As a worldwide family of individuals from all walks of life, the Institution provides a caring, co-operative and supportive environment which encourages individuals to bring out the best in themselves. As a global organisation co-ordinating worldwide community projects, the Institution has created opportunities for people in 129 countries to participate in a variety of initiatives aimed at creating a better world where people live in peace and harmony. Above all, the Institution emphasises the benefits of moral and spiritual approaches to life. It enables people to develop attitudes and behaviour which stem from universal core values. The Institution's purpose is to share the vision of a world where people live in harmony with others and to strengthen individual awareness of the dignity and inherent worth of every human being.

  • Fundamentals of spiritual teachings

Fundamental Spiritual Teachings The Instituition has now grown into a gigantic tree with more than 6000 branches, spread over India and more than 80 other countries. About 7,00,000 persons daily study moral and spiritual values and practice meditation at these centres. Some of the teachings imparted here are:

1) There is only one God, Who is Incorporeal and Eternal. He is World Almighty Authority and Ocean of Knowledge.

2) God is the Incorporeal Mother - Father of all souls. This awareness of relationship with and love for God is called Yoga. Rajyoga Meditation enables one to have spiritual transformation. It purifies one's sanskaras, builds one's character and gives many physical and spiritual benefits, mental relaxation and eliminates stress and negative thoughts.

3) We should try to inculcate in ourselves the divine qualities such as humility, tolerance, patience, contentment, sweetness, etc.

4) We must prepare ourselves for the forthcoming Golden Age and thus completely divinise ourselves.

5) True Godly Knowledge is revealed by God Himself by descending in the body of a human being and adopting him as His medium. He performs this divine act at the end of Kaliyuga, when there is utmost loss of moral and spiritual values and when Satyuga is to be re- established.
